Apartment T2
Structure: Reinforced concrete
Decade of construction: 90
Intervention: Interiors Design,
Construction, Planning,
Management and Execution
Work: Full refurbishment
Our intervention
This is a 2-bedroom apartment, part of a relatively recent block of apartments in the Carnaxide area, in its original state, which has undergone a complete renovation.
Being a 5th floor in an area of the city where tall buildings prevail, the biggest challenge of this Project was to find a solution that would bring more light to the space.
Therefore, we chose to eliminate the partition between the Kitchen and the Living Room, which, in addition to creating a larger usage area, made the most of the natural light that enters through the 4 window openings distributed there.
Overall, the same goal was achieved through the conscious choice of a light colour palette.
For heating sanitary water, a Vulcano Compact Sensor Range heater was chosen.
New water, gas, sewage and air conditioning networks (pre-installation of air conditioning) were also installed and a change was made to the electrical power network, updating it, including the complete replacement of equipment with EFAPEL material - LOGUS 90 Series; a continuous internal plaster coating (stucco) was applied in the Kitchen and to the finishing of ditch areas; false ceilings were applied in the Entrance, Sanitary Facilities and Kitchen (here, the execution of a false ceiling allowed us to create 2 levels together with the living room ceiling with 2 different lighting areas).
The ceilings in the kitchen and hall, the plasterboard lining in the kitchen and fireplace, the internal gaps, mouldings, skirting boards, various cabinets, crockery and sinks, taps and countertops were removed, in whole or in part, preparing the work base to integrate superior quality finishes.
Internal wooden doors were installed, a model with a straight frame and a white matte lacquer finish.
We chose to maintain a single line for the interior design of the sanitary facilities, creating an environment of continuity.
In the kitchen, emphasis was placed on the integration of an island dining area, to be used daily, which also functions as a separator from the adjoining living room space.
The result of this intervention was to create even wider and more fluid circulation and common use spaces.
